| Educational Alternatives, Inc. [EIN 06-1744325] is a newly formed non-profit organization whose purpose is to offer learning opportunities to people around the world. With a broad focus, the organization will initially provide learning opportunities to students. For more information, visit our blogging site – beyondtheclassroom.wordpress.com – the blog title symbolizes the type of learning experiences the organization wishes to offer. The founder of the organization has been a teacher for 34 years and has taught in five states and three foreign countries. She currently teaches in Georgia, U.S.A. She has traveled extensively in Southeast Asia, parts of Europe, and throughout the Pacific Islands. Through her experience she has observed a lack of creative venues through which motivated students can pursue their quests for knowledge. To this end she created an organization with the hope that one day it may fuel the dreams that would otherwise smolder and die…unfulfilled. Through her travels, the founder visits schools and engages in conversations with educators, parents, and students to learn of their needs and dreams. From these conversations, meetings, and requests the following objectives emerged: • Providing computers to a school in Ubud, Bali [students have never seen a computer]. • Providing transportation and living expenses for a Vietnamese collage art student to study art in America. • Providing supplementary educational field trips to educationally impoverished students in the Southern United States. • Providing living expenses for an economically disadvantaged student with high academic potential so that he can continue his studies. At this time the organization is in the formative stage. Currently, we are without funds. The organization needs “people power”. We need persons with grant writing expertise and people to solicit funds from foundations and philanthropic groups. Please use the organization’s email (info@educationalalternativesinc.org) to communicate with us. Please inform us of any student needs you feel fall within the scope of our objectives. Please refer us to other sites, organizations, or people who you believe would be beneficial to us. Please give advice, and if you have the time, please volunteer to become an active member of this organization. Thank you, in advance, for taking the time to get involved. Your responses will be answered. Don’t forget to include your contact information in your response. |
